Our Daily Offerings

It’s no secret that today’s kids have experienced palates, but many still crave comfort foods. We strive to provide students with a balance of both — menu choices that go beyond pizza and tater tots, and better-for-you alternatives when that is what’s on the menu. When we serve pizza, rest assured that it is using the best ingredients and prepared with the care you would use to cook at home — fresh dough, stretched and hand-tossed, with a variety of fresh vegetable toppings, baked and served hot from the oven.

Our chefs pride themselves on creating well-balanced and nutritious offerings to nourish young bodies and minds. And, our meals check all the boxes: They are local, seasonal, delicious, nutritious, made-from-scratch, sustainable, and nourishing.

Menus are designed monthly to reflect seasonal availability, holidays, and the special dietary needs of the Heschel School community.

Buffet-Style Food Service
Diners of all ages enjoy a variety of options daily including hot meals, vegetarian hot entrees, salads, rotating specialty items, and grab-and-go items. Fresh, seasonal whole or cut fruit is always available. Cater To You team members serve food at the hot buffet stations and ensure food offerings are well-balanced, appealing, and plentiful.

Hot Entrée of the Day
Our Hot Entrée menus are designed with our food philosophy in mind. All meals are cooked on-site, from scratch, using sustainably sourced, better-for-you ingredients. Each day the Heschel Community will have the choice of two entrées; sides are selected to enhance and complement entrées. The current menu includes salmon every other week and flounder once every two weeks.

Holidays and Special Occasions
For any holiday or celebration Cater To You excitedly prepares selections that get the community buzzing. Our team loves bringing the dining program to the roof during Sukkot, baking a few hundred pies for teachers as a note of gratitude before Thanksgiving, or preparing 2,000 latkes for Chanukah.


Additional Student Lunch Offerings

Salad Bar + Yogurt Station
Your salad bar offers an abundance of options to make-your-own with seasonal vegetables, greens, and toppings, including 2-3 Salad Green Mixes, 2-3 proteins, house-made roasted and pickled vegetables, fresh-cooked grains, cheeses, and various add-ins. House-made salad dressings include Balsamic Vinaigrette, Apple Cider Vinaigrette, Caesar, CTYFS Dressing, Oil and Vinegar. In addition, a variety of fresh composed salads are featured daily.

The yogurt station is complete daily with low-fat yogurt, fresh-cut fruit, house-made granola, whole fruit selections, and Stonyfield® organic individual 4oz yogurts.

Make-your-own Sandwiches + Grab-and-Go
We offer a variety of breads and bagels and the following fillings daily: egg salad, tuna salad, cheeses, grilled vegetables, Sunbutter or WOWButter and jelly, and a variety of spreads (butter, cream cheese, etc.). The Grab-and-Go section contains cheese sticks, individual yogurts, and whole fruit for healthy snacking at any time during the day.

Beverages
Instead of juices, we serve flavored decaffeinated herbal teas and house made Agua Frescas. Agua Frescas are flavored waters that our team makes in house by blending different fruits to flavor water. In addition, we offer Ronnybrook Farm Dairy milk, known for their long history of local and traceable farm fresh milk.
